This is an original Oscar Heyman diamonds ring. Founded in 1912, in New York by three brothers of the Heyman family. Oscar, Nathan & Harry. Oscar and Nathan learned the art of working in platinum jewelry as apprentices at a workshop in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In the 1939 World’s Fair, the firm supplied jewellery to four of the five participating retailers in the House of jewelers, thus earning them the name Jeweler’s jeweler.

This particular ring in the style of ballerina’s tutu (skirt) is an original 1950 design by George Heyman, one of the younger brother of the founders. Today, the company continues to prosper in New York. A book was published in 2017 on the firm’s work as researched by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Their jewellery are also sold in Japan and have graced celebrities and royalties including Queen Sirikit of Thailand. In 1969, Oscar Heyman & Brothers designed and manufactured the famous Taylor-Burton 68 carat diamond necklace for Cartier that was given to Elizabeth Taylor.

Our ring here is the Ballerina in platinum. The central stone features a single Marquise-cut diamond weighting approximately 1.00 carat of G/H colour and VVS2 clarity while a total of twenty-four baguette-cut stone weighting approximately 2.16 carats of F/G colours and VVS1-2 clarity.

Platinum is the noblest metal and the hardest to work on but this is a specialty of the firm.

An excellent gift.

It is stamped and numbered. The valuation was US$20850.00 but now available to you for much lesser.

Pre-owned. Comes with orig. boxes, manual & dated paper.

One owner’s watch from new & each watch is individually numbered. This is a rare collector’s item & a handsome diver’s watch. This is the equivalent of Rolex’s Submariner with an Explorer dial but at the fraction of the price and Blancpain certainly stands high in the world of luxury watch makers. Today, a vintage Fifty Fathoms commands over S$70K.

Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms, first introduced in 1953, has become one of the most legendary diving watches ever made, especially with its rich military history and timeless design. But at the turn of the century, the brand decided to venture into the avante-garde and use state of the art technologies and materials to push the fifty Fathoms and Blancpain into the future as the Concept 2000 debuted at Basel 1999. Three models were introduced. This 300m diver’s watch, a GMT 24hrs and Air-command chronograph.

On the mechanical side, this watch is powered by the twin-barrel automatic caliber 1151 with a lengthy 100 hour power reserve. The 40.5mm stainless case also utilized rubber on the bezel and crown for more comfortable handling of the watch. The bracelet was completely new, made in a blend of steel and fiberglass-reinforced rubber that the brand called “enduring yet utterly stylish”.

This is the best value Fifty-Fathoms that you can find for under S$10K now and it is one of the most important model that revived the series and saved the brand to what we have today.

About This Watch

Pre-owned. No box or papers but watch was returned to factory for a complete restoration.

Introduced in 1969, this Omega Flightmaster chronograph was designed for pilots. It follows the same futuristic case design of the Speedmaster Mark II that was the result of a NASA Lunar mission request. This case was machined from a single block of steel down to 43mm and this and was nicknamed “helmet” and this would be used by several other models including diver’s watches and this case was reintroduced again in recent years.

The Flightmaster is a complex watch with three crowns, two pushers and seven hands. The screw-lock back cover features the engraving of a Douglas DC8 jetliner.

This watch was returned to Omega factory for a complete restoration at a cost of S$1818.60 with a receipt dated in June 2019. The case is original and refurbished while many parts were replaced including all pushers, crowns, balance wheel, gears, glass and gaskets while the bracelet is a new old stock replacement from Omega. The watch is now in tip top condition and sparingly worn for a few times since. It takes about 30 winds to full power reserve. The lower left crown with black enamel dot adjusts the internal 60min ring in bi-direction. Upper crown on left with blue enamel dot adjusts the blue GMT hand with lume. This watch retained it’s original T Swiss T dial, an important component for watch enthusiasts as a service dial is frowned upon for period correctness.

There are many for sale but few would have received this major job done by Omega for a peace of mind.
